Admission to Form One (2010 -2011)
Welcome to our Admission Page and we are very happy to know that you are interested in applying to our school, La Salle College.
Here you will find details of the procedures for admission to Form One in September 2010. For further inquires, please contact our school office during school hours at 2338 7171.
 
Policy
As an aided school, admission to Form One in La Salle is regulated by the SSPA System.
Students are admitted either through the discretionary place system or allocated by Government from our feeder school, La Salle Primary or by central allocation.
     
Procedures
Admission through Discretionary Places
   
1. Forms can be obtained by post or in person during school office hours or downloaded following this link. A letter of application is required, if you want the form to be sent by post.
2. Completed Forms, together with the required documents, must be submitted in person on or before the deadline. No late applications can be accepted.
3. All applicants will be notified by phone of the date and time of the interviews. For overseas applicants special arrangements will be made for the timing of the interview.
4. No written Tests are given to applicants.
5. The following criteria are used in assessing the applicant:
   
  Admission Criteria Weightings
(1) Conduct, performance in primary school as revealed in internal assessments, extra-curricular activities, awards, teachers' comments in report cards as well as position in discretionary place rank order list (if applicable) 60%
(2) Performance at interview(s) 40%
     
     
6. Successful applicants will benotified by the EDB on 6th July 2010.

 1. Number of Form 1 classes: 7 
   
2. Language Option:
  French is offered as an alternative to Chinese Language Subjects. This option is normally meant only for non-Chinese speaking students, or for those attending schools where Chinese is not the medium of instruction, or for returnees from overseas whose foundation in Chinese is weak.
   
3. Application Forms can be obtained in one of the following ways.  
(a) By post, with a self-addressed and stamped envelope.
(b) In person, from the school General Office*
(c) forms can be downloaded following this link
 
Deadline for returning Application form: 25th January 2010.
 
 * School Office hours for distribution of forms:  (except Public Holidays and Sundays)
Monday to Friday: 9:00 am - 4:00 pm  
Saturday: 9:00 am - 12:00 noon
 
Admission to Form Two, Three and Four
Procedure
1. Application letters should be sent to the Principal together with all relevant documents and a stamped addressed envelope.
2. The application is acknowledged through a proforma.
3. If vacancies arise, suitable candidates are invited for written tests in English, Chinese and Mathematics and an interview with the Principal.
4. Applications for admission to F5 or F7 are not considered.
   
Re-admission
Normally, students who have withdrawn from the school and have given official notice to this effect are not considered for re-admission. However, if parents and students concerned can produce convincing and valid reasons, their applications will be considered on a case by case basis.
